A message from Iris :
Heya everyone !
As many of you know, I’ve had a rough time in 2009-2010 as I had to overcome 3 major surgeries due to my Ulcerative Colitis.
A little over a year ago, I decided to open up my own youtube channel to document what I was going through and I quickly started to get really positive feedback from people who were going through the same nightmare as I had, and they let me know how much my videos have helped them an gave them courage to carry on living a positive life.
One particular viewer (Katie) messaged me and we instantly connected (make sure you stop by her blog too!) . She too had to have a total colectomy and will be having her take-down surgery in a few days. I can’t wait, she’s going to be the first colon-less person I ever meet! I’m sure we’ll have tons of stories to share with each other.
Katie mentioned how she loved ROADS and that her brother Mark was also a musician and that they were organizing a fundraiser for the CCFA (Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America) and that they would love for us to go to NY to play a show with Mark’s band (The Alphabets).
Of course, we immediately agreed!
Although my health is pretty stable now, I’m still affected by this terrible disease that will remain in my body until we find a cure.
SO, If any of you are going to be in Brooklyn (NY) on August 14th 2011, make sure you stop by the Music Hall of Williamsburg @ 2PM and help us to finally find a cure for the millions who are affected by Ulcerative Colitis and Crohn’s.
SEE YOU ALL IN BROOKLYN BAAAAABY !!!!!!
